Former leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha during his speech on the 31st anniversary of the founding of the PD Gjirokastra branch called on Democrats not to become slaves of Lulzim Basha.
According to the former prime minister, the entire scenario created at the PD headquarters belongs to Edi Rama, who has taken the current PD leader hostage.
He again called on citizens to be part of the protest organized on January 8, where according to Berisha, after this date the PD headquarters will be returned to the house of free democrats
“I urge you not to be deceived, it is not a matter of offices, it is not a matter of persons, those who must represent you, they are lawyers, they are mercenaries of anti-values, the issue and the battle that is taking place is only one. The most fundamental advancement of democracy, will the majority rule, or the minority over violence over the majority. They are historical acts of infidelity. He will not accept your decision not of this hall, but of the 44 thousand members of the Democratic Party. This man who two months ago told me that I am not fired by the assembly because members voted for me, he still says that he does not know them. He asks you to introduce two thousand people gathered in a hall in front of the delegates. We are not dealing with chairs, but will decide the minority or the majority. Edi Rama is the main director of this script. Do not become slaves of a man who buys you and sells you every day for his own interests. “On January 8, it will be the return of the PD headquarters to the house of the Free Democrats.”, said Berisha.
January 5 was the last day of the deadline set by Berisha for the current chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha to leave office, after according to him he was dismissed with a free vote by 4446 delegates of the National Assembly of the Democratic Party, dated 11 December 2021 and from 44 thousand members of the DP, who participated in the Democratic Party Referendum of 18 December 2021.
Basha not only did not submit to the set ultimatum, but decided to arm the blue headquarters, not allowing the members of the Provisional Commission for the Re-establishment of the Democratic Party, supporters of Berisha to enter the headquarters.
The complicated situation for months within the DP, seems to have no end, as it gets worse day by day.
On the other hand, according to the General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, the protest called by Berisha is a call for violence, which favors only the government, led by Prime Minister Edi Rama. According to him, the Re-establishment Commission, which consists of Berisha and the deputies who support him, serves the personal interests of the former prime minister.
