A 57-year-old man declared wanted and convicted by Italian justice for criminal activities in the field of narcotics has been arrested by the police today.
It is about the citizen Ilir Plaku, who is sentenced in Italy to 12 years in prison and has 2 years and 4 months left to serve.
“The Operational Services of DVP Durrës in cooperation with the Services of the Durrës Police Commissariat, after the information received on the operational road about the location of a wanted citizen, organized the work enabling the arrest and detention of the internationally wanted citizen Ilir Plaku, 57 years old , resident in Durrës.
The Court of the Durrës Judicial District has decided to recognize the final criminal decision of the Court of Appeals of Cagliari, which has partially changed the decision of 22.04.2008 of the Court of Preliminary Investigations of Cagliari, sentencing the citizen Ilir Plaku to 12 years imprisonment, for committing the criminal offense “Trafficking in narcotics” provided by Italian criminal legislation.
With the criminal decision dated 24.01.2022, the Court of Appeals has decided to leave in force the criminal Decision no.589 dated 29.06.2021 of the Court of the Durrës Judicial District. “Citizens Ilir Plaku have 2 (two) years and 4 (four) months in prison to suffer”, it is said in the police notification.
The materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Durrës Judicial District for further action.
