The Volkswagen company has decided to stop the production of vehicles in Russia and suspend exports to the Russian market.
The news was given by a company official, who said that the decision will take effect immediately.
“The Management Board of the Volkswagen AG Group has decided to stop the production of vehicles in Russia until a second notice. The Volkswagen Group has welcomed the war in Ukraine with great concern. Volkswagen continues to hope for an end to hostilities and a return to diplomacy. We are convinced that a lasting solution to the conflict can only be found under international law“, Said the official.
Other carmakers, including Ford and Renault, have also stopped production in Russia.
