An information on social networks that the Albanian railway has interrupted the transport service due to lack of fuel has turned out to be false.
The Directorate of Albanian Railways, based in Durrës announces that the service continues normally for all loyal passengers of rail transport. Currently, train travel is offered only on the Durrës-Elbasan-Durrës line where the traffic continues uninterrupted, according to HSH, at the set times, once a day in both directions of movement. Meanwhile, on March 15, the Shkodër-Laç-Shkodër line is expected to be put into use. The train will move on this line in the service of the attendees of the Church of Laç, as well as all interested passengers.
Over the years, the railway service stuck by the crisis has been significantly reduced and currently only the Durrës-Elbasan line is offered and vice versa, and from next week the Shkodër-Laç return route.
Due to the works that are being carried out in the reconstruction of the railway line, in the Durrës-Kashar segment, the movement of passengers is done with a bus made available by HSH, once a day in both directions of movement. Rail transport passengers over the years have been significantly reduced due to uncertainty, the condition of trains and the depreciated railway line where partial investment has recently begun.
