A fourth round of talks between Russia and Ukraine will be held today at 10:30 local time, according to Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Minister.
Hopes for a ceasefire have risen after Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak gave an optimistic assessment, saying results would be achieved within days.
“Russia has already begun to speak constructively“, Said Mr. Podolyak in an online video. “I think we will achieve some results literally within a few days. ”
So far three rounds of talks have been held, but still without any sign of peace. Talks between the US and China will also be held on Monday, as concerns grow over the possibility of sending aid from Beijing to Russia.
