The first bus with 40 women and children is expected to arrive from Ukraine and take refuge in our country.
Albanian families have opened their doors to be close to Ukrainian citizens.
“The bus is ready, it is expected to leave from today to tomorrow. There are 40 women and children “, says the honorary consul of Ukraine in Albania, Bledar Bajraktari.
But they are not alone, as other families who are unable to leave Ukraine individually have sought refuge. Bajraktari stressed that the only problem is who to steer the bus, as men can not leave Ukraine.
“There are some groups ready, but once the formula is found, a woman can drive the bus and leave.” says Bajraktari.
The number of applications to come is growing at any moment, but where will Ukrainian citizens be housed?
“500 are taken over by the Albanian state, while families from Shkodra to Saranda have offered themselves”, says Bajraktari.
The Albanian government has taken a decision this Friday according to which all Ukrainian citizens can enter and stay in Albania without a residence permit.
