In his hospital bed, little Artem looks into space. He clutches a small yellow toy tractor but says nothing as nurses monitor his condition.
The Russian shell that exploded in his abdomen severely injured his parents and grandparents as they tried to leave Mariupol. A victim of Putin’s war and he is not yet three years old.
15-year-old Masha lies on the bed next to Artem. Her right leg was injured after a Russian shell exploded last Tuesday.

“I hate Russia.” says Dr. Yuri Borzenko, director of the Children’s Hospital.
“The girl who lost her leg (Masha) was so traumatized that she did not eat or drink for days. She could not mentally cope with what had happened. “We had to feed him intravenously.”
“A six-year-old who was injured in the head had no tears or emotion after seeing his mother burnt to death in their car after being hit by the Russians.”
What is happening in Mariupol is a humanitarian disaster, a war crime.
