The administration of the Buchenwald Memorial Center in Germany has reported that an elderly man who survived a number of concentration camps during World War II was killed in a bombing raid on his home in the northeastern city of Kharkiv.
Boris Romantschenko, 96, “has campaigned for the remembrance of the crimes of Nazism and was vice-chairman of the Buchenwald-Dora International Committee,” they said in a series of Twitter posts.
