The burial of dead chickens continues in Durrës, while the AKU confiscated the few eggs that were produced after March 19, when the first case in the country with bird flu was confirmed.
After finding the burial place of the dead chickens, the process of extermination of the infected chickens has started, a process which should have started earlier to prevent further spread of the H5N8 virus.
For this, the Ministry of Agriculture must compensate the owners of poultry establishments. So far there are 120 thousand infected live chickens that will be exterminated.
Half a million dead chickens have been buried so far, following the spread of bird flu, which has affected the country’s three largest poultry farms.
But from the observation made by Top Channel, the cases of Tirana supermarkets are filled with the eggs of these companies.
But how safe are the eggs we find in the supermarket? The answer to this question should be given by AKU, where this institution should indicate the quality of eggs and their origin.
The Minister of Agriculture asks all poultry breeders or poultry establishments to stay in contact with the veterinary service if they find deaths of their birds.
