One of the consequences of the war in Ukraine is the displaced, who so far turn out to be approximately four million.
Most of the deportees are women and children, as martial law in Ukraine prohibits men aged 18-60 from leaving their country.
The hope and desire to escape the war can have serious consequences, mainly for the safety of women and children.
Various humanitarian organizations including UNICEF have raised this concern, as Ukrainian refugees are at risk of falling victim to human trafficking or other abuses.
This is a phenomenon that is unfortunately problematic in humanitarian emergencies, as not all those who prefer to shelter or help have good intentions.
For this reason, the Council of Europe group of experts on the fight against trafficking in human beings has raised the alarm, emphasizing that the risk of trafficking is very high.
Experts have sought and are working for the commitment of European countries to guarantee the security and freedom of Ukrainian refugees.
