In the end, the locals celebrated, as FIFA fined the Senegalese Football Federation with 143 thousand pounds, emphasizing that the organizers have failed to “maintain order” in the stadium.
Harsh charges followed the match, with the Egyptian Football Federation claiming its players were victims of racist abuse, being hit with bottles and stones, and also being targeted by lasers throughout the match.
Not only that, as the “Pharaohs” complained that their bus was attacked with strong tools by angry local fans while traveling towards the stadium. In addition to the fat penalty, Senegal will also play a closed-door challenge.
