German Chancellor Olaf Scholz welcomed Emmanuel Macron today in Berlin, congratulating the French president on his re-election.
The BBC reports that at the conference he said that good co-operation between France and Germany was important and that the two countries should “work well together for Europe to work well”.
They also talked about the war in Ukraine, considering it as something unexpected.
“Thousands upon thousands would experience death and destruction. “As a result, we have experienced a turning point in history.”said Scholz.
