Bouchra Karboubi will be the first woman from the Arab world to host a men’s soccer final. FAR Rabat and Moghreb Tetouan will fight today (17:00) for the Moroccan Cup (Coupe du Trone) trophy.
The 34-year-old, who is a police inspector, will be the main referee in a challenge where one of the sides will be female: Fatiha Jermoumi.
Karboubi became an international referee in 2016 and was the first woman to referee a match in Moroccan football elite.
In the African Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Egypt in February, Bouchra was the VAR referee./supersport
