The wife of a well-known bodybuilder in Poland, has announced that Paul Poloczek has died suddenly, a few hours after taking part in a competition in Germany.
The causes of death are unknown.
Polish giant Paul Poloczek had competed in the NPC Worldwide championship in Germany a few hours before his death.
It remains unclear how the 37-year-old trained died, as the cause is expected to be published after being confirmed by doctors and family, writes the British Mirror.
His death adds to other unexplained losses of athletes in the last year, or other physical problems that have prevented them from exercising their passion.
His wife gave the sad news in an Instagram post.
“Bodybuilding was your life. We will not forget you, you will live in our hearts, we will love you forever “.
Poloczek had started bodybuilding since he was a teenager, after initially trying to become a footballer.
He spent most of his time in Germany, where he joined Powerhouse Gym in 2002, and later became their owner.
Poloczek scored his first victory in bodybuilding at the age of 17.
He later finished second in the German Championships heavyweight category in 2012. He also won the Arnold Classic Amateur Tournament in Ohio, USA in 2017.
Poloczek’s death is not the only one hitting the bodybuilding sport in recent months.
This month Sifiso Thabethe tragically lost his life at the age of 23 after breaking his neck while performing his traditional somersault celebration.
The bodybuilder was competing in South Africa and the horrific death was recorded on camera.
