On a June evening, the dream of a red and black summer night is over.
Such has been the ambition for the head of the Group in the Nations League. More than light rain, Israel has thought of a reality bath.
Accounts in hand, with only 1 point in 2 games, would take a miracle in September with 6 full points, and again Albania is not the lady of its fate, at least for this mission. It is the fast balance after a 2-1 defeat, suffered by overthrow and above all with many hostages at all stages of the game, the defense that strangely suffers and where we see high level players, who play where defense is art, in Italy, who err, while the attack also limps, without being able to function properly.
It against Israel was in fact the race that reflected Albania with two faces. Beautiful that of the first half, with initiatives, solid game and a Broja that gives the sparks of a phenomenon to ignite Air Albanian with sprints and passes, disfigured that of the second half, where beyond conceding goals, or moments of perversion , the most embarrassing were the extra minutes, with a total chaos and Albania that was almost not on the field, a team practically surrendered.
In total there are two challenges within a few days, the draw with Iceland and the defeat with Israel. The cloud has changed performers but not the scheme, without yielding results. Beyond the technical-tactical discussions that are more professional than those who are more competent, coaches or former coaches, it is certain that in these two challenges Albania has taken a step back.
Regarding the real opportunities, or ambitions that everyone had before the start of this campaign this remains to be seen, but anyway, the names and players available say that the opportunities are, the game expressed on the field no. Maybe it’s June syndrome, historically we have not made exhilarating appearances in this period, even when it came to friendliness, maybe most likely Reja needs to change plans.
As for the friendlies, for those who have forgotten, this Monday we play against Estonia. A difficult test for the moment and the psychology that finds the national team, but for this reason, although friendly, finding a smile is even more important to return with a little more positivity in September./ SUPER SPORT
