About 4200 ducks have died in a private farm in Miza of Divjaka. According to the owner of the farm, Ardian Bakiu, the duck disease started on the 3rd of this month.
Immediately after the outbreak of the disease, he notified the veterinary service of the Municipality of Divjaka, and then the regional veterinary service in Vlora.
Bakiu says that the regional veterinary service did not take any measures to identify the disease and isolate the area.
In addition to the ducks, the virus infected 7 employees who helped the owner bury the birds. They showed symptoms with high fever and headache.
It took 12 days for a representative of the Vlora Regional Veterinary Service to come to the center of infection. They today reopen the pit and collect them in one place.
Even today, 12 days after the submission of the tests by the veterinarian of Divjaka to the Veterinary Institute, there is still no answer as to what was the cause of death.
So far bird flu is suspected, but there is still no official answer.
