Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that the invasion of Russia was aimed at “breaking Ukraine and breaking all of Europe through Ukraine.”
During a joint news conference in Kiev with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, he described how Russia’s attack on Ukraine was an attack on all of Europe.
“Russia wants to show that a united Europe is incapable of being effective and that European values do not work to protect freedom. “We can and must break this scenario and show them that Europe will continue to be free, democratic and united.” said Zelensky.
According to him, the best way to demonstrate a common and strong position is to support Ukraine’s integration into the European Union.
At the same time stressed that Ukraine is ready to work to become a full member of the EU.
“We understand that the road to the European Union is really a road and not a step. “But this path must begin and we are ready to work for our country to become a full member of the European Union and the Ukrainians have already won the right to embark on this path.” said Zelensky.
CNN writes that the Ukrainian president has called on EU leaders to grant his country swift membership in the bloc through an abbreviated procedure to counter Russian aggression.
Zelensky said the total number of Russian missiles used against the civilian population in Ukraine has reached 3,000 this month, adding that the more powerful weapons they have from the West, the sooner they will be able to put an end to them. Russian attacks.
“Every batch of such supplies is equal to the rescued Ukrainians. And every day of postponement or postponement of decisions is a chance for the Russian military to kill Ukrainians or a chance to destroy our cities. “There is a direct connection: the more powerful weapons we get, the faster we can liberate our people and liberate our land.”he said.
