The Supreme Court in America on Thursday repealed the gun law, which stipulated that natives must have a strong reason to carry a gun.
Now any person in NewYork can carry a gun at home, adding to the possibility of increasing homicide cases in public.
This is happening at a time when the country is being shaken by a series of one-sided events with mass shootings, which have taken dozens of lives.
“New York’s request for proper gun ownership violates the Fourteenth Amendment in that it prevents law-abiding citizens with common self-defense needs from exercising their right to bear arms.” said Judge Clarence Thomas in an opinion which was joined by five other Conservative judges.
Critics say the decision will undermine conflict resolution among those who think they can curb gun violence.
Twenty-five states in America allow people to carry guns in public spaces without any permission and without any training,
The ruling marks the first extension of gun rights since 2008, when the Supreme Court upheld that the Second Amendment protects the right to keep firearms at home for self-defense.
