The pools near the lake dam are now called Aquapark Tirana, after the transfer to the administration of the Municipality of Tirana.
From July 1, young people and families alike can spend hot summer days near the 5 swimming pools, while for children up to 12 years old, entry is free.
“We offer free services for children of Tirana up to the age of 12, for adults there is a fee, during the week the entrance is 800 Lek with umbrella and blanket or 500 without umbrella and blanket. There are 5 pools for children up to 5-6 years old. Then the pool for the age of 2-3 years, the family pool and the two pools for the youth area. There are two doctors throughout the day from 8:00 to 16:00. There are two life guards in each pool. The official opening hours are 9:00-18:00, after this time there is no more access to the pool because the water is filtered and cleaned.” said Fatjon Dhuli, director of the Tirana Sports Center.
During the summer, summer camps are held for children in need, lasting up to a week.
“Summer camps will be held, we currently have the Shkozë social center, it is children in need who will hold a 1-week summer camp. It is planned for all children in need, we will start with them so that they have the opportunity to spend a week of vacation near Aqua Park Tirana. Then we will continue with all the children of rural areas. Camp from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The camp is offered by the Municipality of Tirana free of charge. For private units, we can do it at reduced rates.” he further added.
From next year, it is expected that there will be other changes in the pool complex, where one of them will be the construction of a winter pool.
