US President Joe Biden made a video call today to US allies as the Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine began.
The White House announced that the purpose of the call was to discuss continued support for Ukraine and efforts to hold Russia accountable.
U.S. officials have said Washington sees the Moscow offensive as a start to larger operations in the east.
The call was also attended by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as well as leaders of Poland, Japan and Italy.
