Prosopagnosia is a neurological disorder that can cause people to have trouble recognizing even family members or friends, according to the National Institutes of Health. Treatment involves developing other strategies for getting to know people, such as focusing on their voice. Some studies show that it may affect up to 1 in 50 people to some degree.
Pitt spoke about suffering from the condition back in 2013, saying it’s why he stays at home so much.
