Russian forces have bombed a mosque in the city of Mariupol, home to more than 80 adults and children, including Turkish nationals, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
The Sultan Sylejmani Mosque in the port city has been bombed by the Russian “invaders”, it is said in its announcement. Ukraine has accused Russia of not allowing citizens to leave Mariupol, leaving hundreds of thousands stranded.
Russia, for its part, blames Kiev, blaming it for the failure of evacuation efforts. There is still no clear information to kill or injure inside the mosque. The attack on the cult object came at a time when Moscow has consistently denied reports of civilian targeting.
The Russian offensive towards Kiev immediately continues. The British Ministry of Defense says Russian ground forces are now 25 kilometers from the center of the Ukrainian capital. They are heading to Kiev from the north, to Sasymja and to the south to Vyshenky, and have succeeded in some areas. Russian strategic bombers have continued airstrikes in the Dnieper, Luzk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the Russian army is trying to break the defense of the western and northwestern regions of Kiev in order to “block” the capital. “Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the country has reached a strategic turning point.”
“It is impossible to say how many days we have left to liberate Ukrainian land. “But we can say that we will do this,” he said, as the Russian occupation entered its third week. The situation in Mariupol is very serious, where hundreds of people have died, and where the Russian bombing is not even allowing the dead to be buried.
