The administrator, the captain and the mechanic of the trawler are wanted, who had adapted a deposit in a trawler for smuggled oil, in order to avoid customs duties, and had anchored the trawler without notice in the former shipyard in the Port of Durrës.
The trawler with 80,000 liters of suspected smuggled oil was seized.
The Border Police, Durrës Customs Branch, Maritime Anti-Smuggling and FSPD Port Durrës also participated in the first investigative actions.
Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in DVP Durrës, following the work for the prevention, identification and attack of criminal activity in the field of smuggling of goods, based on the information received on the operational route, that in the former shipyard in the Port of Durrës, a trawler was anchored, with suspected smuggled oil, they organized and finalized the police operation coded “Diesel”.
As part of this operation, the following citizens were declared wanted:
– AM, 38 years old, resident of Durrës, administrator of the fishing boat;
– FA, 65 years old, resident of Durrës, captain of the trawler;
– N. Xh., 53 years old, resident of Durrës, trawler mechanic.
Following the actions, the trawler and the amount of suspected smuggled oil were seized. Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Durrës Judicial District, the work is continuing for the complete clarification of this illegal activity, the identification and the criminal responsibility of the other citizens involved.
