Cold magic and snowfall across Turkey finally covered Istanbul on Saturday as well.
Citizens there have enthusiastically welcomed the snowfall, although it brought traffic problems. Many of them enjoyed the view and the snow on the hill Çamlica, the highest point of the city.
With the exception of a few minor accidents, the main roads were open as various municipalities were ready after many preliminary warnings regarding the impending snowfall.
Police and crews of the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) stepped up their efforts to ensure that major highways and highways leading to Istanbul will remain clean as snowfall increased in neighboring provinces.
Turkish Airlines said 46 flights to and from Sabiha Gökçen Airport scheduled for Saturday were canceled as snow is expected to hit the Asian side of the city.
