In the Agricultural University of Tirana the number of students within 5 years has decreased by 61%.
This opinion does not motivate all students to choose the Agricultural University. In the academic year 2021-2022 no graduate chose to study in the fields of zootechnics and marine biology.

The former excellent student of agriculture, Behije Ferra, unlike her peers, she says that she has made the right choice that she has completed her studies in the field of zootechnics.
“I have completed a bachelor’s degree at UBT for Zootechnics and I have also completed the Scientific Master for Zootechnics and the provision of livestock products, with an average of 9.8 I can be called a student of excellence. I can say that I was lucky because I finished my studies in November and I started working in December, through a professor Myqerem Tafaj, with the contacts he had with the zootechnician of a company where I work today “, said Behije Ferraj.
But not all of Behija’s colleagues had the opportunity to be employed in the school they invested in. The labor market for animal feed specialists seems to be poor in Albania, where livestock is shrinking.
“We had 20 students in the master and as far as I know 2-3 colleagues have started working in the profession”, said Behije Ferraj.

“They are in private companies. Some economist, some supermarket manager, someone has run out. “Others are waiting,” she added.
But in the field of Food Technology, we see another reality. Auditors are not emptied, while the labor market needs food engineer.
