Russia on Monday approved a list of countries and territories that carry out “unfriendly” actions against Russia, its companies and its citizens.
The announced list lists the states that imposed or joined the sanctions against Russia, after the beginning of the occupation in Ukraine. Albania is among these countries.
The list includes USA, Canada, EU countries, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Montenegro, Switzerland, Albania, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Northern Macedonia. Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan are also present.
“The government noted that, according to this decree, Russian citizens and companies, the state itself, its regions and municipalities, which have foreign exchange liabilities to foreign creditors from the list of unfriendly countries, will be able to pay them in rubles.“, Writes TASS.
The list follows a presidential decree signed on March 5, which allows the government, companies and Russian citizens to pay off foreign currency debts owed to foreign creditors by “unfriendly countries” in rubles.
To make such payments, the Government explained that debtors must open a special type of ruble account in a Russian bank and transfer to it the ruble equivalent of the amount of foreign currency owed – at the official exchange rate of the bank central on the day of payment.
