“Football played in the country and internationally have made important steps forward that have served the country. The news that football makes is a very good presentation for the country. The federation has opened a big window for us to advertise what we have, in a big event with so many people the reality will come out. We will demonstrate the hospitality and respect we have and I have conveyed this to the organizers and UEFA.
From the beginning of the project we started to think and we had a goal to have such a final. We took part in the UEFA competition, the administration was sometimes skeptical why we get so tired because maybe UEFA would eliminate us because there would be no guarantee. When the stadium was finished, UEFA had an obligation to give us this status because we had applied two more times and had not received it. We have already met the criteria. We qualified from the administrative commission and then it was unanimously supported.
UEFA’s policy is such that football goes to every corner of Europe. Given that we are a member since the founding of UEFA and have visible developments in football, it was normal for him to come here. “There was skepticism, of course, but everyone deserves something, and we now have to justify it now and convince those who did not believe us,” said Duka.
