Ukrainian authorities across the country are reporting new Russian missile attacks and strikes that have killed at least 16 civilians.
The announcement of the latest casualties comes as the Russian military announced on Saturday that it was intensifying its offensive against its neighbour.
Some of the Russian attacks were launched in the early hours of the day and targeted regions in the north, east and south of the country.
At least three civilians were killed and three others wounded by a Russian missile attack in the northern Ukrainian city of Chuhuiv.
Across the eastern Donetsk region, seven civilians died in Russian attacks. However, in the neighboring Luhansk region, Ukrainian troops repulsed a Russian overnight attack on a strategic eastern highway.
