A second level bank in Koplik of Malësia e Madhe was robbed this Monday.
The incident took place in the city center around 14:10 minutes when three masked persons entered the bank and under the threat of guns took a considerable amount of money.
The three perpetrators then left quickly. The robbers apparently planned the theft well as all the time, it is a police patrol at the beginning of the road but they took advantage of the schedule when the police officers changed shifts to carry out the theft.
After robbing the bank, the perpetrators quickly left and abandoned the car at this roundabout.
Contrary to what usually happens, the perpetrators decided to abandon the car and burn it in a very populated area, in the middle of the national axis Shkodër- Hani i Hotit, then the perpetrators under the threat of weapons stopped another citizen, took the car and have decided to leave towards Bajza.
Shkodra district police have launched checks throughout the Malësia e Madhe focusing on the villages of Bajza and other border areas with Montenegro. The suspicions are that the perpetrators could escape to the neighboring state through the green border or through Lake Shkodra. To assist field patrols, there is also a police helicopter.
