“We have some issues that we ask to be added and addressed by the resolution. Based on a disturbing statement by the Prosecutor General regarding money laundering and the lack of investigations by the Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana, we request that in the draft resolution ILD be suggested to carry out a thematic inspection in the Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana as pertains to the investigation of criminal offenses initiated by money laundering, initiated by the statement of the general prosecutor of legal affairs that certain prosecutors, in violation of the law, refuse to fulfill their duties. We request that a suggestion be included that the ILD be required to handle filed complaints that, due to the 5 year statute of limitations, avoid filing without being subject to verification and investigation by the ILD. To add a point that the cases of conflict of interest that are created by the governing bodies of justice by the Supreme Court, the KLP with judges and prosecutors from different levels of the judicial system are dealt with, these were our suggestions“, said Bardhi.
The Committee for Legal Affairs, Public Administration and Human Rights is dealing with the approval of draft resolutions for the evaluation of the activity of the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Crime of
Organized (SPAK) during 2021, of the High Inspector of Justice during 2021, of the High Prosecution Council during 2021 and the Central Election Commission during 2021.
