In a statement to the media, just a few hours from the beginning of the protest, the leader of the Democrats Lulzim Basha accused the former Prime Minister Berisha this Friday of being a liar, arguing that he has excluded himself from the most important decisions during his eight years in opposition, at a time when he has been a part of them.
“Sali Berisha has been a liar to you by excluding himself from the most important decision-making of the DP during our eight years in opposition, at a time when he has been part of the decision-making even preceding them with media statements, and his rival protagonism with the elected institutions of PD“, Said Basha.
The leader of the Democrats said that he has accepted his responsibility regarding this situation, but stressed that the former prime minister can not behave as if he was on an island from where he returned after eight years.
“Sali Berisha has deceived you badly by lying, fabricating and slandering without reckoning against me, without presenting any fact or proof no matter how small, all this to gather behind him supporters and make the crowd against the US and throw the Democrats against man the other. Sali Berisha has abused the will of those Democrats who sign for the convening of an Extraordinary Assembly of the DP, by not allowing the passage of their signatures in the legal path defined by the Constitution of the Party“, Said Basha.
The leader of the Democrats stressed that Berisha has deceived the party members and the public opinion with the so-called referendum, where according to him, he makes the lists himself, counts himself and adds as many voters as he wants to take the number to where he predetermined it.
“The clearest and most discreet picture of the rsa with the name referendum is the filming in unit 8 in the heart of Tirana where less than 10 percent of the DP members participated in the voting, which Sali Berisha’s communiqué in the evening makes 80 percent. . This is the pseudo-referendum, this is the biggest hoax. With stacked numbers, with boxes filled, Sali Berisha, for his plight, calls on the Democrats to invade and annihilate the Democratic Party, its legal forums“, Said Basha.
In his statement, Basha called the protest called by Sali Berisha “a war with the United States of America and the Democrats”.
According to Basha, the former head of the blue headquarters, has cheated since the beginning of his rostrum movement. This with the reasoning that “Berisha turned his declaration non grata into a personal war”.
“Berisha has deceived with his continuous efforts to keep secret the procedure of declaring non grata that takes time and includes several institutions and law enforcement agencies in the most powerful country in the world“, He declared.
The January 8 protest for Basha is an oxygen pipe for the “regime of Edi Rama”.
“Sali Berisha’s movements, since September, when I made the decision to suspend him, and today all day, have served to noise and divert the focus of our opposition battle, consequently giving oxygen to the government“, Said Basha.
