The number of people who lost their lives from COVID-19 in Belgium has gone over 22 thousand.
In this country, COVID-19 has caused the death of 22,006 people. According to the National Institute of Public Health, 763,885 cases have been registered in Belgium since the beginning of the pandemic, while the average number of new cases per day was 2,293.
In the country the second wave started in October, while in early November the figures of new daily cases reached over 15 thousand. The figures marked a decrease with the measures implemented since October. The number of cases from about 3 months varies to be about 2 thousand.
Meanwhile, in the vaccination campaign that started at the beginning of the year, so far 461 thousand people have received the first dose of the vaccine, while another 296 thousand have received the second dose. In this way 5 percent of the adult population in the country has received the first dose of the vaccine.
