Russia has imposed sanctions on US President Joe Biden and other senior US officials.
Russia’s foreign ministry says they have been barred from entering the country in response to US sanctions, according to the BBC.
“The move is a consequence of the extremely Russophobic policy pursued by the current US administration.”it is said in a statement.
In the latest announcement of sanctions, the US has targeted four people and one entity.
They are accused of helping to hide the events around death of Sergei Magnitsky or in connection with human rights violations against human rights lawyer, Oyub Titiev.
The US Treasury also said it was stepping up sanctions against Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko and targeted his wife.
