The UK government has imposed sanctions on seven Russian businessmen as part of a crackdown on Russia in its war with Ukraine.
“There can be no safe haven for those who have supported Putin’s brutal attack on Ukraine,” said British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Some of them are: Roman Abramovich, Igor Sechin, Oleg Deripaska and Dmitry Lebedev.
Abramovich owns Chelsea Football Club, Deripaska owns shares in En + Group, Sechin is Rosneft chief executive and Lebedev is chairman of Bank Rossiya.
The Russian billionaire is one of seven Russian oligarchs who, according to a UK Treasury document posted online, describe Abramovich as a “pro-Kremlin oligarch” who has close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
