Amateurs of Britain and the world’s biggest music festival were not intimidated by national rail strikes, grim meteorological or health warnings, waiting for replacement buses to be at the giant Glastonbury festival.
The Daily Mail wrote that festival goers were seen waiting for London and Manchester train replacement buses to go to the musical extravagance of the fields at Worthy Farm where the festival takes place.
Rail companies said they operated only five services from London’s Paddington station, for a total of 24 routes from Wednesday to Friday.
Meteorological forecasters said that “today it may rain, hail, or flood the country”, but this did not seem to have a practical or psychological effect on the participant.
Clay Fields, which is synonymous with the Glastonbury Festival, has not intimidated art lovers awaiting tomorrow’s opening with Billie Eilish in the main Pyramid scene.
Fans who had arrived early, housed in makeshift accommodations such as tents or camps, were seen taking advantage of the sun by bathing in the valleys between the low hills.
The return of the festival this year is the first in Glastonbury since the summer of 2019, when at the weekend all the well-known names of rock music as Paul MccartneyThe Kills, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish.
