A gardener who put toothpaste on his neighbor in the mailbox has been ordered to pay pa 250 in compensation by a court in Britain.
37-year-old Steven Wright had fiercely debated several times with his neighbor Colin Jones about parking spaces in the town of Handforth, in central Britain, shortly after Jones moved into his new home in 2019.
He is also accused of moving Jones’s family trash can to avoid being emptied of utilities, and of “using the washing machine at night to make noise”.
Jones has already left the apartment but reported the neighbor to the police arguing: “These issues have caused me a lot of anxiety and stress. “As a result of his behavior, my quality of life has changed.”
Wright pleaded guilty to harassment charges in Crewe court which sentenced him to a 12-month ban on contact with the victim and 250 250 compensation.
The court was told that the incidents had occurred from October 2019 to April 2021.
Prosecutor Nicole Bridgman told the hearing: “The complainant says he parked his car in the same place for two years but the accused said in a threatening tone: ‘Stop seeing me park here, you can not park here.’
“In another case when the complainant asked the accused to remove debris from the crossing road he pushed the construction materials in the middle of the road to block the crossing.”
“He believes that the accused damaged the car of the neighbor’s family and in one case approached the fist collected at the beard. The next day, the accused had put toothpaste and toothbrush in the complainant’s mailbox, to make fun of him even more “.
The “injured” neighbor then installed security cameras which the defendant then covered with a plastic material. “It cost the neighbor 500 500 to repair them.”
“There was also damage to the dividing fence and the accused had called his rival with offensive words.”
Defense attorney Sam Fixster said: “The car damage from the accused is just an assumption. He does not know who did it and despite the respect, the area is such that these things happen. The accused had even moved the garbage bin to a special area of the lawn.
“These things have happened before and he has not had any problems. “He is a professional gardener and helps the neighbors with the maintenance of the area, so it seems that the event was just a ‘clash’ of characters”, said the lawyer.
Wright was also ordered to pay 4 284 legal costs.
