Specialists of Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime, after the broadcast on the investigative show “Fiks Fare”, of a suspected corruption case in the Regional Hospital of Elbasan, referred the materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, for the criminal offenses “Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions” and “Abuse of duty”, and criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens AK, 51 years old, resident in Elbasan, acting as a forensic doctor and FB, 42 years old, resident in Elbasan, acting as a morgue employee.
These citizens, in cooperation with each other, have abused their duty by taking sums of money for the provision of services from the morgue at the Regional Hospital of Elbasan, contrary to the standard procedure, which does not provide payment for these types of services. Work continues for the full documentation of this case.
The materials were forwarded to the Prosecution at the Elbasan Court of First Instance, for further action. The Local Police Directorate of Elbasan thanks the media and citizens for their cooperation and invites them to denounce any case of illegality, guaranteeing a quick and impartial response.
