Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said a Russian invasion of Ukraine would have serious and serious consequences.
The Federal Parliament of Canada met with a special agenda to discuss the crisis in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the special session of parliament with an online link from his home, where he was in quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Trudeau answered questions from lawmakers at the session, which lasted more than two hours.
“Russia is looking for conflict. “If Russia invades Ukraine, it will have serious and serious consequences,” Trudeau said.
Stressing that Canada assists in training Ukrainian soldiers and will continue to do so for the next three years, Trudeau said they will also send money and military equipment to Ukraine.
He warned Russia of “heavy price and serious consequences” if it chose to invade Ukraine, adding that if that happened, they would implement coordinated economic sanctions plans against Russia.
During the parliamentary session, the Canadian opposition called on the government for greater support for Ukraine.
