Judge Enkeleda Kapedani has been suspended from office with the right to receive a minimum wage for six months. The captain became famous due to the publication of videos on TikTok, while parading in the court premises.
During the hearing held this Monday in the High Judicial Council, the Captain admitted his disciplinary violation, thus cooperating with justice. This has led the HJC to request an agreement with the judge, a request that has been accepted by the High Inspectorate of Justice.
“The High Judicial Council accepted the agreement between the parties and the disciplinary measure “Suspension”, against the magistrate, with the right to receive the minimum wage for a period of time for 6 months”.
The High Inspectorate of Justice decided to accept the agreement based on the new circumstances, as the magistrate, contrary to the negative attitude regarding the disciplinary violation during the initial disciplinary proceedings, assumed the burden of moral responsibility, apologizing, and expressed remorse over the acts. performed by her.
ILD states that Judge Kapedani was cooperative and did not show any obstacles regarding the continuation of the investigation, or the provision of tools or information to ILD.
Enkeleda Kapedani completed her studies at the School of Magistrates in 2014 and after a period of internship in Tirana, was appointed a judge in the Court of Elbasan. In May 2021, while holding the position of Vice President of the Court of Elbasan, the Captain was placed in the focus of the media and justice institutions due to the publication of several videos on the social network TikTok.
The ILD immediately launched a disciplinary investigation and considered the videos as behavior that discredited the judge’s figure, while the Captain claimed the videos had been published to tarnish his image and sought to be tried for her work as a judge. The High Judicial Council decided to suspend her from office.
