The State Election Commission has requested from the General Prosecutor’s Office full verification for Elton Banon, the candidate for the Municipality of Lushnja of the “House of Freedom” coalition in the local by-elections.
Such a request came after the Democratic Party denunciations that candidate Bano has been convicted of theft in England.
DP said that the candidate of the “House of Freedom” for the Municipality of Lushnja has hidden the sentence dating to the period 1999-2000 and demands that he be excluded from running.
According to the Democrats, this is the period when Bano declared his stay in England, but changed his birthplace from Lushnja to Pristina.
According to the CEC, from the verifications made by the candidate’s self-declaration, no final sentences were identified.
