But contrary to what the authorities say, eggs continue to be sold and bought along the streets of Tirana.
Traders say they have begun to feel the concern of customers with the spread of news about chicken flu.
“I am more worried about the chickens and not about the village. They are also worried about the chicken meat, they are worried about not bringing the sick chickens to the market. We used to sell 200 eggs and now we sell 70. We know the villagers, so we take the eggs. ”
Local authorities should have started to take control of the situation, but this is not happening yet. Citizens caught between the fear of disease and the need to continue living, choose the latter.
