Kryemadhi promised today that together with the Democratic Party they will return Albania to the home of Albanians. At the end of the signing ceremony of the agreement between the two parties, Kryemadhi said that PD and LSI will continue to maintain their identity in government, where they may have objections to certain policies, but stressed that they will be the first to establish national identity. .
SPEECH BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE SMI, MONIKA KRYEMADHI:
Today is a historic day I will call it for the Socialist Movement for Integration and the Democratic Party. But it would be more important for all Albanians, because the unification and consolidation of a final coalition in the face of a criminal sect on April 25, will be necessary for the future of Albania and Albanians, especially our young men and women. .
Today the SMI and the DP have come together as an alliance against the failures of the Rama government and today in a day when we formally join, we will join forces and work with each other in the service of the Albanian people. Our partnership sends a strong and clear signal to all Albanians that change is coming, that change is inevitable and that better days lie ahead for Albanians wherever they live.
I know that there will be many who will say that the SMI is a party that grows from the electorate of the left, but a party like us, the SMI, where at its core has social democracy and together with the Democratic Party that is the right party, I want to address this, that first we as SMI and PD will continue to be two entities, with their identity. We will continue, that at times we may have objections to certain policies, but we pledge that we will find a common language of cooperation and work hard with each other, always putting forward the interests of Albania and Albanians.
Secondly, we are absolutely unified with the belief that the country is worse today than it was 4 or 8 years ago, almost all Albanians, except those who have close ties to the government, who are better than 99% of Albanians . We and the Democratic Party are united in the belief that the country is heading in the wrong direction and that we need to do more to move Albania and the Albanians where they want to be, in the European Union, to have a safer life, to have a lower cost of living, to have a higher standard of living, to have a better education for their children, to have a better health system for them and above all they should feel in Albania as in their home.
We must stop the desire of Albanians to emigrate from Albania, but we must create more opportunities for them, more employment, in such a way that they feel like European citizens in Albania.
Finally, our partnership will allow the SMI to pursue its political agenda. In particular, we as the SMI will work to implement our five priorities in the first five months, to reduce the cost of living for Albanians, to create good paid employment for them, to give Albanians the hope and opportunity to they make Albania their home.
I want to guarantee all Albanians that this is a partnership built to last, not only during the election campaign, but also in the new SMI government with the Democratic Party and with Mr. Basha leading the entire opposition front in the April 25 elections.
We will work side by side all together, we will work side by side Mr. Lulzim Basha, but not only, but also all of us support each other, in every city, in every district, in every house and in every alley, members of the Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration, but not only these, but also young men and women, all those who are without a party, but who want to change Albania, who want to bring a better life for young people and who want to be dignified citizens in their country.
We are prepared to focus all our attention on the recovery of our post-Covid economy, which Edi Rama not only did not provide a solution to, but instead plunged the country into an extraordinary crisis. Edi Rama promises to create jobs, but a man who created a crisis without having a crisis, think about how he can get the country out of such a situation.
I want to call on all Albanians to unite together, to go to the polls on April 25. The April 25 referendum is not a political calculation. The April 25 referendum is a mission. It is a national mission to put an end once and for all to any sect that seeks to take the future of Albania and Albanians hostage.
I invite you all, thanking you, to head to the ballot box, to talk to our friends, to our friends, to our family, to convince them. We understand that they are tired of politics, we understand that they are disappointed with politics, but today more than ever, the union of the SMI with the Democratic Party and its allies is a stronger signal, in this wonderful day, in the day the first of March, on the day of spring to start a new spring, the spring of development, the spring of emancipation, to have more women and girls, not only in government but also in politics, to have more many young people not only in government but also in politics, and to give strength to the Albanian vote. Thank you.
