A 34-year-old man of Albanian origin, identified as Ergys Dashi, was killed in Ecuador. It is suspected that the young man, originally from Durrës, was executed because of his involvement in drug trafficking.
The crime took place on Saturday evening, around 19:00 when two people, one of them with a bouquet of flowers, entered a restaurant avoiding the staff asking for the vaccination card, while the other pulled out his gun and shot several times.
The serious incident is reported to have occurred at the intersection dividing the streets José Joaquín Orrantia, of the Mall del Sol, north of Guayaquil, Ecuador.
At the scene, forensic experts have collected over 20 marks of Fame brand bullets, type 9 × 19. They also found that the victim had received several bullets in the front of the skull.
Initially, the identity of the deceased was not known, but after being sent to the Forensic Laboratory, his origin from the Balkan region was confirmed.
During the execution, a young woman identified as Angie Romero, 26, was injured. She was sitting at a table near the place where the Albanian was.
