40 drivers were fined during the week they left behind in Tirana, after being caught violating traffic rules.
Police report that these drivers have been driving the vehicle drunk or without a driving license, to leave the scene of the accident or to drive the vehicle in an irregular manner, actions that endanger their lives and the lives of the surrounding citizens.
Four drivers were caught using the phone while driving or without wearing a seat belt, who in order to escape the administrative measure tried to bribe the police officers, offering them sums of money.
A 21-year-old man who hit a citizen and then left the scene has been handcuffed. According to the police, the citizen with the initials RP by performing the wrong overtaking in the area of Paskuqan and speeding beyond the allowed norms injured the 44-year-old with the initials DE
During the week, 201 driving licenses were suspended, divided according to violations:
35 on “Driving under the influence of alcohol”,
150 for “Speed Limits”,
16 for other violations of the Road Code.
19 pairs of modified license plates were recovered, which did not belong to the vehicle or were deregistered in the countries of origin; 26 vehicles were blocked for lack of documentation.
6352 administrative measures have been imposed, with an average of 906 measures imposed per day, namely:
– 89 measures for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages
– 93 measures for non-regulation of speed / speed racing;
– 166 for black glass;
– 206 measures for wrong overtaking;
– 760 measures for the use of mobile phones while driving;
– 583 measures for not wearing a seat belt, out of these 34 as the passengers had not fastened their seat belts;
– 132 measures for not wearing a protective helmet;
– 2809 measures for wrong stay / rest of the vehicle;
– 55 administrative measures for lack of insurance;
– 1459 measures for various violations.
