Police have arrested a 40-year-old Albanian man declared internationally wanted after being convicted of rape in Italy.
Elidon Vrapi, 40, resident of Drenovica, Dimal, was handcuffed.
His arrest came in the framework of the police operation codenamed “Ancona”, conducted by the Section of the Special Operational Force, in cooperation with the Section for Crime Investigation and Interpol Tirana.
It is learned that this citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Court of Appeal of Ancona, Italy, sentenced him to 5 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offense “Rape”, provided by the Criminal Code of Italy.
As well, Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with the Italian law enforcement authorities, follows the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy.
