The Internal Control Service in the Prison System referred to the Korça Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office a criminal case for 6 citizens.
Five of those involved are employees of the Prison Police in the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions in Korça and the other citizen serving a sentence also in the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions in Korça.
ICS referred the case after carrying out the first procedural actions for the criminal offenses “Active corruption of persons exercising public functions”, “Abuse of duty”, “Fraud”, “False statements before a judicial police officer”, provided by Articles 244, 248, 143, 305 / b and 25 of the Criminal Code, as amended.
The referral was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Korça Judicial District in the framework of the 2022 investigation after the completion of procedural actions for the citizens:
1- “VR”, convicted in the Korça Penitentiary Institution for the criminal offense provided by Article 244 of the Criminal Code “Active corruption of persons exercising public functions”;
2- “OP”, employee of the Prison Police, for the criminal offenses provided by Article 248 of the Criminal Code “Abuse of duty”, Article 305 / bi of the Criminal Code “False statements before a judicial police officer”, Article 143 paragraph second, of the Criminal Code “Frauds” and 25 of the Criminal Code;
3- “A.XH.”, Employee of the Prison Police, for the criminal offenses provided by Article 248 of the Criminal Code “Abuse of duty”, Article 143, second paragraph, of the Criminal Code “Frauds” and 25 of the Criminal Code ;
4- “OT”, employee of the Prison Police, for the criminal offenses provided by Article 248 of the Criminal Code “Abuse of duty”, Article 143, second paragraph, of the Criminal Code “Frauds” and 25 of the Criminal Code;
5- “A.SH.”, Employee of the Prison Police, for the criminal offense provided by Article 248 of the Criminal Code “Abuse of duty” and 25 of the Criminal Code;
6- “AM”, employee of the Prison Police, for the criminal offense provided by Article 248 of the Criminal Code “Abuse of duty” and 25 of the Criminal Code.
These citizens in cooperation with each other entered the IECD prohibited items in exchange for monetary values.
Investigations continue to provide evidence of citizens and other police officers involved.
