Poland has set a record of new infections for the second day in a row, as 40,876 new cases were added within 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced today.
This is the highest figure since the beginning of the pandemic. In the same period, 193 deaths were reported due to Covid-19. Poland has about 38 million inhabitants.
Last week, the Polish government’s policies on coronavirus led to an open revolt in its medical advisory body. In protest against the growing influence of vaccination opponents, 13 of the 17 members left the Medical Council.
