The Covid ward has already been opened in the regional hospital of Elbasan, which has received today the first 5 patients affected by Covid-19.
Patients affected by the Elbasan Region are already being added to this hospital, but the needs of the Ministry of Health may also dictate the hospitalization of persons from other regions of the country.
The opening of this hospital came as a result of the high, increasing number of those affected by covid-19. Only in the last 24 hours in Elbasan are registered over 81 affected, while the largest municipality with the highest number of affected has been the municipality of Elbasan.
But the municipality of Librazhd has also registered 33 affected, a high number for the small population, and a loss of life as well. 81 beds is the capacity of this Covid ward, in the Regional Hospital of Elbasan also equipped with the necessary equipment for this disease, especially in terms of oxygenation equipment. 25 health personnel were trained to serve Covid-affected persons with Covid-19.
Now, based on the needs of the Ministry of Health throughout Albania, Covid wards will be opened in regional hospitals, where the capacity is expected to be around 600 beds.
