Critic Patel criticizes European Court of Human Rights for canceling asylum seekers’ flight to Rwanda

“These recurring legal barriers are similar to those we experience with other departure flights and many of those removed from this flight will be placed on future flights.

“We will not be prevented from doing the right thing and realizing our plans to control the borders of our country. “Our legal team is reviewing any decision made on this flight and preparation for the next flight begins now.”

So far this year, more than 10,000 people have crossed the canal in small boats.

More than 28,000 people made this dangerous journey last year, more than tripling the figure in 2020. More than half were either Iranians or Iraqis, from Eritrea and Syria.
