A status of venting boredom of Briken Çalje on social networks has revealed a problem for the world champion, who then also faced the reaction of the minister of sports on the issue of his rewards since the institution has been working for a long time, opening a debate not small.
In a statement to Top Channel, the weightlifter from Shtërmeni says that everything started after the reaction of the weightlifting federation, which in its status on social networks referred to the delay of the reward that Çalja himself had implied but not mentioned publicly.
“The Federation chose another path that published all the documents, and it is very clear that the documents say that on April 20, which is the first order, since the payments were made in two orders and the second order is missing. This issue should have been closed between me and the federation, not in public.”
Meanwhile, regarding the distribution of rewards, its president Elez Gjoza clarifies:
“Within the month of June, the Ministry of Education, following the decision of the Council of Ministers, transferred to the treasury all the rewards on account of the Albanian Weightlifting Federation and the federation was able to make all the payments of the rewards, starting with Evangjeli Veli, Erkand Qerimaj, Proud Shoraj, along with their coaches, Samuel Bishanaku, along with Samuel’s coach and Briken Çalja”.
“That’s what makes me wonder that it looks like I got the money, but actually as of the moment we’re talking I haven’t been paid and that’s easily verifiable.” says Çalja.
However, apparently the payment of Briken Calje’s ransom has hit a snag.
“The issue has a limit of money, it does not belong to the federation but to the treasury, today we have learned that for large sums such as Briken’s reward, which amounts to about 180 million lek, it must be accompanied by documentation with orders not from the general secretary, but with his order had to be accompanied by the minister’s order that we have”, says Gjoza.
According to the documentation provided to us by the Albanian weightlifting federation, the payments to Çalje were first made on July 7 and made again on Tuesday, July 12 due to lack of documentation.
